This web site is designed for a variety of uses. The best way to get started is to register as a Level 0 Member. This is free. Choose a user name and a password will be sent to you. You can subscribe to as many groups as you want.

Once you have signed up, you can then post content in blog format, participate in discussions, create events, classifieds, and share resources using the wiki or announcements area.

To see all that you can do, Click on the 'Create content' link under your user name when logged in.

If our free Classifieds, Announcements or Calendar are not enough to consistently and reliably share your company's message, please consider becoming an advertising member.

There are five TucsonKids Membership Levels.

Level 0 - Free Membership - All you have to do is create an account. This gives you access to make Blog posts, Comment, create Events and Announcements, setup Classifieds and contribute to the Wiki.

Level 1 - $25 Text Membership - Shared ad rotation - text ad with link to website - appears throughout site in 'Similar links' and 'Popular content'.

Level 2 - $50 Graphic Membership - Text ad plus 150px x125px shared graphic ad rotation. See top right of site for example.

Level 3 - $100 Content Membership - Graphic Membership plus 535px x 125px Graphic banner ad. Also, you get one page devoted to your mission and expertise.

Level 4 - $250 Expert Membership - Content Membership plus control of your own content area. Your expertise will be on display for all to recognize as you manage your own 'Group'. Collect postings, lead discussions, answer questions... in short, run your own 'Community' within the high visibility TucsonKids website. Your company will also be listed in the 'Sponsors' area of the site for special recognition.

The Event calendar is for community events, not advertising. Please post your long running or ongoing event to the Announcements forum.

Those who wish to advertise on TucsonKids can begin with the 'Advertise' FAQ entry.

Login and then click 'Create content -> Classified Ads'. Follow the prompts and then click 'Submit'.

One of the powerful things about a Wiki is the ability to collaboratively generate well structured and linked articles. If I make a statement that references another important idea, I can simply enclose that phrase in double square brackets and that phrase will be displayed as a link.

If you click on the link and that word or phrase does not yet exist as a wiki article, the wiki engine will propose that you create a new wiki page.

So, if you have an idea that's important, make it into a link using the double square bracket convention and either make a 'target' page, or leave it for the community. Wiki's make this easy, so give it a try.

When logged in, use the 'My Workspace' link. Enter your details and content type.

Most content types are self explanatory. Use the Announcements forum for ongoing classes or whatever seems appropriate.

For Events use the repeating event feature if appropriate. Look for the 'repeat' tab available when in 'edit' mode. Your event will automatically be removed from the calendar after it's ending time has passed.
